Hornsea Town (SL) vs Kingsbury Park FC

You can’t win anything with kids….er, yes you can!

After scoring 13 goals in an impressive pre season and looking defensively sound, Town are slain by fellow new comers Kingsbury Park FC.

Credit where credit is due, Kingsbury Park, a primarily u18s side boosted by local experienced players were an extremely strong force to be reckoned with and have to be one of the favourites to win the league already!

As manager Dave Limb was away on family business, Assistant Manager Nath Revell took Town on their first outing on the road. Lining up almost unchanged from pre season with additional players Revell and Brooks joining the fold, the lads prepared themselves for a battle against strong opposition and the 4ft grass on the pitch!

From the offset Kingsbury dominated play using speed, skill and strength! A powerful combination. It really was a game of one team taking their chances and the other not. Stathers with an effort tipped onto the bar and at least 7 or 8 clear cut chances not finished off by town. Kingsbury had had their 7 chances and put 6 away.
Hats off to Nathan Revell for salvaging something from the game and scoring 2 goals.

As the saying goes “that’s football”
You can be great one week and pap the next. Hornsea Town will do very well over the course of the season and will be up there fighting for the top spots. You have to lose sometimes and accept you were beaten by a better team on the day.

Man of the match Nathan Revell.

Hornsea 2 – 6 Kingsbury
Revell x2
